On November 1, 2013, teams4taps was launched, an initiative to create meaningful opportunities for families of the fallen to engage with the teams they cheered for with their fallen hero. Teams4taps works with teams all over the country to bring joy to military surviving families and to provide them with an opportunity to honor their fallen loved ones. Every year, many major sports franchises work with teams4taps to give Families of America’s Fallen Heroes once-in-a-life time experiences. This season, the New York Yankees once again stepped up for teams4taps. The kids were invited to join the Yankees for a fun day at the ballpark. It kicked off with an exclusive breakfast followed by a tour of the stadium. The highlight of the day was a chance for the families to go onto the field before the game. Players and coaches came out for a meet and greet. Just before the start of the game, the teams4taps kids joined the Yankee players at their positions for the national anthem. It was a great day for all and a special way to honor some very special people. For more information on teams4taps, please click here: http://www.taps.org/teams4taps/
