NBA Clamps Down On Social Media

With bullying issues still plaguing schools and communities across the nation, the NBA is taking a step to prevent problems across social media platforms. The league recently announced they are trying to scale back on “mocking and ridiculing” by players throughout the league using social media accounts. According to Sports Illustrated, a memo was sent to all 30 teams detailing rules and code of conduct when it comes to players and game officials. The league said they had monitored recent activity by some players in the game and stated that some of the banter “crossed the line between appropriate and inappropriate.” Number media reports stated that teams and players have been warned against igniting “Twitter wars” and could face discipline if their social media opinions are deemed inappropriate.
