Michigan’s Final Four 7th Grade Secret Weapon

When Michigan and Loyola Chicago meet in San Antonio this weekend in the Final Four of the Men's NCAA tournament, Sister Jean Delores-Smith will be with the Loyola team. Luckily, Michigan is not without their secret weapon either.

Jude Stamper is a 7th grader in Monroe, Michigan and has been a life-long Michigan fan. Last year, he joined the Michigan team through an organization called TEAM Impact, which connects kids with chronic illnesses with college teams.

Jude has a condition called Arthrogryposis Multi-Congenital disorder. Because of side effects like joint stiffness, he can't play sports at school or get around easily. But that doesn't stop him from traveling with the team and supporting Big Blue. Jude was in Los Angeles when the Wolverines won and made it to the Final Four.

With both teams having such positive forces on their sidelines, we can't choose one to win but we wish them both the best of luck in San Antonio and thanks to the University of Michigan for working with Jude and showcasing some good in sport!
