Honoring The Legends

Ryan Shazier had history on his mind for the AFC Championship game in Foxborough. The Pittsburgh Steelers’ hard-hitting linebacker wore cleats designed to pay tribute to franchise legends like Mean Joe Greene, Troy Polamalu, and Rod Woodson. The design was produced by Corey Payne, who is also the man behind the colorful array of cleats receiver Antonio Brown wore in pre-game activities throughout the season. Shazier was hoping the cleats would inspire the Steelers to a ninth Super Bowl appearance but were derailed by the New England Patriots, who will going to the Super Bowl for the second time in three years and ninth time in the history of organization.
