Finch Goes To Bat For MLB

Jennie Finch, who took softball in the United States to a whole new level, will be trying to do the same for a Major League Baseball initiative. Finch, a two-time Olympic medalist and national champion pitcher at the University of Arizona, was named youth softball ambassador by MLB. The league is incorporating softball into its overall Play Ball youth outreach initiative. "It is an honor to serve in this new role with Major League Baseball to grow the sport that has given so much to me and millions of girls and women throughout the country," Finch told "Together, we will promote youth participation at the grassroots level while also helping develop the skills of players ready for the next level. This is a really special time for softball and I am thrilled to play a small part in this effort to increase opportunities to play the greatest game ever created.” For more on Jennie Finch, please check out
