Caddies presented with $25,000 check at the first annual AT&T Tour Caddie Championship

Caddies Take Initiative

PGA Tour caddies have acted to benefit children of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Every year, the FedEx St. Jude Classic takes place to raise money for the hospital’s patients. Both golfers and caddies visit the hospital and interact with the children. Each moment the caddies were in the hospital they felt the need to get more involved. Scott Sajtinac said, “it was a tear-jerking moment when a group of us took a tour of the hospital. It was a life-changing moment.”

The group of caddies started to give out a web link for donations through phone calls and social media. In just the first year of collecting donations they handed over a $41,000 check to St Jude. Since then, they have partnered with AT&T to host the first annual AT&T Tour Caddie Championship in which they raised another $25,000. They have raised a total of nearly $70,000 and have a goal of $50,000 for this year. To donate, click here.
